My Self-Healing Journey
My journey of self-healing is a powerful one.
It began in college when I was introduced to a therapist, coach and spiritual healer. Working with her opened my eyes to the possibility of becoming more than the thoughts and feelings that perpetuated my anxiety, OCD, ADHD, and eating disorders.
I found connection, peace and clarity when I cultivated practices such as mediation, yoga, self-love and mindset work.
Becoming aware that I was afraid of everything was strangely empowering because it gave me a choice. I could conquer my small fears, or go for the big stuff! Guess what I did? I went BIG!
I learned to love a body I resented. I spoke up in groups where I was afraid to be seen or heard. I applied for jobs I thought I’d never get.
I left everything I created, liquidated all my possessions, rented my home on Airbnb (when people thought it was a bad idea), and travelled around the world solo.
And when I got back a year and a half later, I went back to school when everyone said you should be getting married and having kids.
One terrifying step at a time I learned to believe in myself, believe that other people valued what I had to offer, and believe that the change I sought to make in the world was achievable!
Through this process I healed myself and gained tremendous insight into the human condition.
I discovered that, despite our circumstances, everyone has the ability to create a life of true purpose and connection.
The key ingredient is BELIEF, when you believe in yourself, when you believe in others, and you believe that what you care most about is possible you become UNSTOPPABLE!
It is this belief that drives me to share my why with you - which is to connect and curate communities so that we can all experience more joy, adventure, and belonging.
YOUR BODY IS THE LOVE SHACK YOU CAN ALWAYS COME HOME TO!
Today, I love my coaching work and teaching yoga almost as much as I love vegan mint chip ice cream.
That’s right, ice cream! Who doesn’t love ice cream?
Well, my history with ice cream has been an uncomfortable one. When I was 10, I learned about calories and dieting and I reached a decision that I wasn’t enough just as I was.
To be worthy of love, I had to "fix" myself. Bye Bye ice cream. Hello years of eating disorders, self mutilation, anxiety, depression, ADHD, and suicidal and obsessive thinking.
Things came to head in my college years and I finally got the support I needed, starting with surrounding myself with compassionate people.
Through therapy, I was able to transform my life in incredible ways and that’s when I realized that all women are beautiful, not just the ones depicted in the media.
My journey of self-healing is a powerful one. And I've made it my mission to bring unconditional love to others. I committed to a life-long adventure of loving every bit (and bite!) of my being, and want to create the space for others to do the same.
The experience of community, compassion, and acceptance that I gained from yoga sparked my decision to train to become a yoga instructor. I wanted others to experience the healing, that depth of feeling great and sage in one's own body and mind… And having FULL permission to eat that ice cream!
Each class and each pose was like stepping stones toward an oasis, the depths of my soul, and to my true essence.
The next stepping stone took me to life coaching.
Training in New York, through Accomplishment Coaching, was an investment of a year of my life to make transformations in my Self that built on the incredible foundation I had laid with therapy and yoga.
And it gave me a practice in future thinking, the power to declare and fulfill.
And that brings me to now. I live in the Santa Monica sunshine, but through the power of digital I’m blessed to be able to offer my products and services to the world.
Keto Love Snacks and Life Coaching are my passions so I invite you to explore and enjoy the former, or let me know if you would like to know more about the 1:1 coaching experience.
