How To Turn A Wrench Into Results
Have you ever wanted to start something new?
Convinced that today is the day you’ll begin... And then BOOM! A wrench gets thrown in your plans and you put the start date off?
This has happened to me a few times and I wanted to offer a fresh perspective: What if a wrench was a GOOD thing?
What if a wrench IS A SIGN that you CAN BEING NOW and that now is the perfect time to create what you want?
What is a wrench is actually a tool that indicates that you are on to something BIG?!
Yet when the wrench appears we relate to it as a sign to delay. This happens because our brains find ways to second guess and sabotage our new choice. Our brain does this when it's outside of the established comfort zone.
The brain is a prediction machine. Therefore, when you take on a new opportunity it sees this new endeavor as a threat to the status quo and will attempt to convince you that NOW is not definitely NOT a good time to begin.
When this happens, use that wrench to seal the deal! After all, that is what wrenches are for! They bolt things into place and reinforce foundations, am I right?
Lean in to the opportunity to commit anyway!
When you do, YOU WILL GET THE RESULTS and be sending the message to your future self that We can do anything we set our minds to!
Does this sound crazy?
Let’s look at the alternative: when we delay what we want. A vacation, a move, weight loss, fitness goals, career aspirations, marriage...
We send the message to ourselves that Ok wrench you win! It’s true, I can’t have the life I want, I give up!
Do you want to give up? Do you want to give the wrench all your power?
This is not meant to undermine the experience of a perceived wrench. My advice is meant TO GIVE YOU YOUR POWER BACK and see that more options are available to you.
Don’t want to start the diet, make a family, find a new job, open a business, write a book, lose weight, travel... So don’t!
And then powerfully choose what you want instead.
STOP making the wrench your excuse.
That’s what you are doing, you are using the wrench as an excuse for you to stay put and put off.
Instead, revel in what you want, own your desires and choices, and be open to the fact that it is possible! ALL OF IT.
Keep asking yourself, WHAT DO I WANT?!
Overcoming the obstacle is the way!
Tell yourself, I have been given a wrench to lay the foundation to the success I seek.
